Teismann named Charles J. Marr Citation Recipient
President of MKC Architects, Matthew Teismann, was recently named the 2022 recipient of the AIA Ohio Foundation Charles J. Marr Citation. The Charles J. Marr Award was established to recognize individuals whose commitment to the profession is exemplary. Teismann was selected because of his two-decade long career teaching and practicing architecture with numerous award-winning projects. From his first architectural internship in New York City in 2005, Teismann’s professional career spans 17-years. In 2021 Teismann became the 10th President of MKC Architects. He set out to transform the firm, taking a steadfast approach to the act of making, using it as a testing-ground for new and dramatic ideas. Stemming from his background in academia, Teismann’s leadership brings critical theory back into practice - pushing the boundary of what is possible for a small business.
Teismann was graciously nominated by former AIA Columbus President Norbert A. Peiker, FAIA. The award ceremony will take place on November 3rd at the AIA Ohio Member Recognition event with details below.
