This OFCC funded project included a district-wide reconstruction of all school facilities - consolidating students from 7 buildings into 5 new buildings, including a new high school, middle school, and three new elementary schools. The elementary schools were designed as prototype schools which provided a significant cost savings to the district in both professional fees as well as construction costs. The high school and middle school are located centrally while the elementary buildings are placed at neighborhood sites throughout the district.
The schools were designed with a common Western Reserve style reflecting other significant structures within Painesville. Elementary buildings separate grade levels into academic pods, while the middle school and high school are designed to allow for community and after-hour use. The entire budget was enhanced with local funds to provide additional classroom spaces and an auditorium.
