Featured in the American School Board Journal - 2004 Learning By Design- "A Lesson in Excellence"

Designed to accommodate 500 students in grades 9-12, this 92,547 sq. ft. facility shares the same campus as the former high school, now serving the district as a middle school. The primary design goal of this project was to create a new image for the district while blending the new facility into the existing infrastructure.

The new building features a 500-seat auditorium to host musicals and concerts. This space encourages community use while maintaining the security of the academic areas. Classroom wings are designed for maximum visibility and efficient travel between spaces. The library/technology center forms an academic focal point, while the science wing features 3 combination lecture-labs.

The 180-seat cafeteria is oriented to buffer noise from the unified arts areas while serving as lobby space for the Auditorium and full size gymnasium. A storm-water retention pond is also multitasked as an environmental study lab.
