The
design of this 58,000 sq. ft. building reflects the Providence Care Center's
goal to foster independence. The 138-bed facility incorporates a central courtyard
that provides natural light for internal rooms. and acts as an organizational
tool for the building's layout. Public spaces, day rooms and activity rooms
have an axial relationship to one another with reference to the courtyard, which
helps the residents with facility orientation.
