New art room
New front entrance Cardington Elementary

The original portion of this landmark facility dates back to 1868. Five subsequent additions left the school without a clearly defined entrance, an administrative area on the second floor, isolated from all entrances, and visitor parking behind the building.

The addition-renovation project created a new front facade that echoes the original 1868 architecture while creating a clearly defined entrance and an adjacent first floor administrative suite. The additional space also allowed for dedicated art classroom space. While the renovation also updated all the buildings antiquated systems, equally important was the fact that the community was able to retain their original, historic "school house" which has shaped the lives of generations of Cardington residents!
